.baby.luckey.

Welcome to my first "Luckey Family" blog! Most of you probably already know by now, but if not here's the news. . . . . Bo and I are expecting our first "human" baby in June 2009! SURPRISE!! We were very surprised - to say the least. As you all know, we already have our precious baby girl Maggie, who is our 4 lb Maltese. We are also caring for my mom's chihuahua, Roxie, who is almost 8 years old.

We actually found out the news on November 1st. I had been battling a really bad cold for nearly a week and was on antibiotics, as well as all kinds of cold meds. The major side effect of the antibiotic was severe nausea. I had been feeling pretty nauseous that whole week and it all hit me on Halloween night. That night, my sister and I, along with our hubbies, had gone out to eat and I couldn't even eat my meal b/c I was so nauseated! Jennifer said at that very moment - "you are pregnant!" I basically laughed it off thinking - "yea right!" Later that night, I got home still feeling pretty nauseated and also feeling VERY bloated. I decided I might as well take a test since I already have some - JUST to be safe. So, I took the test and it was negative - or so I thought. It had a very dark pink line and a VERY, VERY faint second pink line. I thought I took the test wrong so I assured myself it was negative. Bo kept telling me "your pregnant!" I assured him I wasn't. He even went so far as to make the faint line darker with a pink highlighter! Crazy! :) I decided the next morning I would take another one. . . .

I woke up at 8 am to let the dogs out, but before I did I took the test again. I placed it on the counter and went about my morning. I didn't look at it for like 15 minutes! I just knew it would be negative when I went back in there. So minutes later I glance at the test and very loudly start repeating. . . "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!!" Bo literally jumps out of bed and asks "what's wrong?" I tell him "I'm pregnant" and I BURST into tears!!! So many thoughts ran through my head over and over again - "what have I done? what do I do? how am I going to do this without my mama?" I somewhat composed myself after lying there for a few minutes. I knew I had to tell my sister immediately but wasn't sure how to do that. I wanted it to be special, but I was so frantic I just wanted to pick up the phone!! We had plans to go eat with my sister, dad, grandma, and cousins for lunch that day. I wasn't sure if I would make it through the meal, but I did. Bo and I left after lunch to find something to give my dad and sister in order to "break the news." I finally just said.... "we'll get an early birthday card for my sister but it will be to 'aunt jennifer.'"

Long story summed up, my sister, dad, in-laws, and entire family now know! I have been to the doctor twice now and I am starting week 14 this week! (I found out at 8 weeks). My doctor says everything looks good and I should know what the sex is on my next appointment, which is January 6th!

Below is the announcement I gave to my family . . . .
